The Hatteras-Ocracoke Ferry is free and runs often, the crossing time is about 40 minutes. The Cedar Island-Ocracoke Ferry is a Toll Ferry. The crossing time is about 2 hours and 15 minutes. The Swan Quarter-Ocracoke Ferry is a Toll Ferry. The crossing time is about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Reservations are recommended for the Toll Ferries to insure you are not delayed in boarding. These reservations must be claimed at least 30 minutes prior to departure time.
